Founder Story
Yan Li, founder of SKADIS Jewelry, is a woman of resilience, courage, and determination. Born in China, she moved to Denmark in December 2006. For eight years, she successfully managed a jewelry business until the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 brought unforeseen challenges. Amid the immense pressure of losing her business and being in an unhappy marriage, Yan fell gravely ill with meningitis in 2021, enduring a long and painful recovery.
The year 2022 was filled with difficulties, she lost her business and ended her marriage, but she never lost faith in herself. With relentless determination, she rebuilt her life, securing a job at a Danish design company just three months after her divorce. Ten months later, she advanced to the role of Business Development Chief at a Danish jewelry company. Within six months of her divorce, she achieved a major milestone - purchasing her own apartment in Lyngby, a symbol of her newfound independence in Denmark. By 2024, Yan had not only rebuilt her career but also her personal life, built a loving home with her new husband.
Born in winter, Yan has faced her most pivotal moments during the cold season - a season that has tested, shaped, and strengthened her. In december 2024, she made the bold decision to resign from her job and dedicate herself fully to SKADIS Jewelry, a brand inspired by the Norse goddess of winter – Skadi, her spirit of independence, strength, and elegance.
SKADIS Jewelry is more than just a brand, it is a reflection of the founder's personal journey through life's hardships and her unwavering belief in the importance of independence for women. No matter the challenges, one can always rise, rebuild, and shine.

Yan Li – Jewelry Designer & Gemologist (G.G. IGI)
SKADIS Jewelry was founded by jewelry designer and gemologist - Yan Li, with a deep passion for jewelry and a vision to blend nature’s precious raw elements with creative and timeless design. Yan embarked on a journey to create exquisite gold pieces, adorned with diamonds, pearls and colored gems, developing fine jewelry that reflects both beauty and female inner strength.
Yan Li's journey into the world of jewelry is a testament to her unwavering dedication and passion for design and jewelry. Hailing from East and calling Denmark home since 2006, Yan has travelled more than 40 countries worldwide, and brings a multicultural perspective to her career.
Armed with a BA in International Marketing & Sales from Denmark, coupled with a Diploma in Jewelry Design and Gemology from the esteemed International Gemological Institute (IGI) in Antwerp, Yan possesses a solid academic foundation that underpins her entrepreneurial endeavors in the jewelry field.
With more than 10 years of experience specializing in fine jewelry, Yan has honed her skills and expertise to meet the desires and styles of her clients. Her modest demeanor belies her profound understanding of the jewelry industry, as she consistently strives to deliver high quality jewelry and professional advice to each customer.
